MARTHA FRAZIER

 MARTHA FRAZIER

Martha Frazier is remembered by hundreds as their kindergarten or first grade teacher. She gave many little ones their first experience away from their parents, and helped them develop the joy of learning. Giving children her loving attention came naturally to this gentle, petite mother of three.

The only child of Ralph Proctor Reinhard, also a teacher, and Lela Frances Kelly Reinhard, Martha Ann was born September 19, 1932, in Nevada, Iowa.

She passed at age 88 on Sunday, November 1, 2020, at Lakeside Meadows Nursing Home in Osage Beach, Missouri.

She was married to Norman Darrell Frazier on August 16, 1953, in Kirksville, Missouri. He preceded her in death on July 16, 2017.

Martha and Norman both graduated in 1956 with BS degrees from Truman State University, Kirksville. They moved to Normal, Illinois, and both began teaching careers. Martha taught at Sheridan and later at Oakland Elementary Schools in Bloomington, Illinois. In 1984, they moved to Osage Beach, to operate a motel in that thriving entertainment center. Later Martha opened a store, Quilts and Things, and offered beautiful handmade items from local quilters. In retirement they both volunteered at the local hospital.

Surviving are three sons, Norman Kelly Frazier of Macks Creek, Missouri; Scott Nelson Frazier and wife Noelle of Osage Beach; and Barry Ralph Frazier and wife Mamie of Osage Beach; three grandsons, Marcus Ryan Frazier, Connor Nelson Frazier, and Craigen Frazier. She is also survived by Norman’s siblings: Stanton Frazier and wife Ruby of Milan, Missouri; Amber Cannon of Des Moines, Iowa, and Donna Sharp and husband Jim of Milan, Missouri.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial services will follow at a future date at the Scobee Cemetery in Pollock, Missouri.
