CAROLYN JANE PARMENTER

 CAROLYN JANE PARMENTER 

Carolyn Jane Parmenter, 80, Harris, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at her home. 

She was born on December 27, 1940 in Ravanna, Missouri the daughter of Wendell and Wilma (Dodson) Arbuckle. 

On July 24, 1966, she married Edward Franklin Parmenter in Princeton, Missouri. He preceded her in death on April 9, 2018. 

Carolyn was a 1959 graduate of Mercer High School. She then graduated from cosmetology school and opened Carolyn’s Beauty Nook in Mercer, until she married and moved to the farm with Eddie. She was active in the Mercer County Genealogy and Historical Society, helping with publishing the Mercer County History Book. Loving history and genealogy, she traced Eddie’s line to a Mayflower ancestor. She served on the Mercer County Library Board for 30 years and was an active 4-H Leader. For over 20 years she, with her husband and daughter Julie, cared for the Harris Cemetery. 

During her five month illness she enjoyed precious time with her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren; Hilary, Stetson, and Mason. 

She was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Marilyn Anders. 

Carolyn is survived by her daughters, Lisa (David) Prichard, Princeton, MO, Diane (Robert) Carmichael, Canton, MO and Julie (Tim) Tucker, Harris, MO; sister, Wanda (Ray) Allen, West Liberty, IA; grandchildren, Tara Collings, Danessa (Jarod) Stout, Reece (Alexandra) Carmichael, Peyton (fiancé, Justin Seaton) Carmichael, Amanda Tucker, Justin Tucker, Jason Tucker, Abbie (Casey) Hamilton, and Bailey Prichard; also great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Margie (Randy) Doss, Oklahoma and brother-in-law, Chuck Parmenter, Harris, MO. 

Carolyn has been cremated under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Princeton, MO. Memorial Services and Inurnment in Harris Cemetery, Harris, MO will be held at a later date. 

The family requests memorials to the Harris Cemetery.
