Frances Ann DeVries

Frances Ann DeVries, formerly of Green City, Missouri passed away on February 10 in the Sullivan County Memorial Hospital.

Frances was born to Bill and Vaunda Moddrell DeVries on August 18, 1950. “Francie” had been a resident at the Milan Health Care Center for the past 12 years. In her younger years she attended school at Green City R-1. Francie was a kindhearted soul. She was a member of the Green City Presbyterian Church where she helped with secretarial duties like keeping attendance. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #365. She enjoyed going out to eat and gambling at the casinos. Her family traveled when she was younger. They went camping in many places. Francie enjoyed being a snowbird in Texas during the winter months. Francie was known for her brownies and her laugh. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Before Covid stopped visits with Francie, she would introduce her visitors to all of the staff at Milan Health Care Center to show all of the staff how proud she was of her family.

Frances was preceded in death by her mother, Vaunda, father Bill, and brother, Martin. Frances is survived by her sister, Jo Lynn Neely, of Green City; niece Michelle Parr and husband Terry of Green City; niece Heather Jaques and husband Darin of Milan; and nephew Martin Neely and wife Debbie of Green City. Frances had many great nieces and nephews too.

Frances’ wishes were to be cremated and services will be held at a later date. Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Green City is handling arrangements.
