WILLIAM HARLEY WALKER
William Harley Walker, age 74, went to with His Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 15, 2020.
William was born in Kirksville, MO on December 28, 1945 to Carl and Trula (Baugher) Walker.
William grew up on a dairy farm and milked cows twice a day and graduated from Newtown-Harris High School.
He married his high school sweetheart Dena A. Elliott and started his family in Chillicothe, MO then moved to Wichita, Kansas in 1983. William worked for Pizza Hut for 20 years then retired and went to Papa Johns for 10 years, retired from that job and went to work for Avis Rental driving cars for the last 12 years. He was vice president of his camping club, Ninnescah Good Sam’s. usher for St. Anne Catholic Church, and belonged to the Knights of Columbus. William loved his family and his church; he was the Best Daddy Ever.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Trula Gay (Baugher) Walker.
William was survived by his wife of 58 years, Dena (Elliott) Walker; children, Debra and Rick Andres, Elbing, KS, William Carl Walker, Wichita, KS, Katrinka Walker, Harlingen, TX, Anthony Walker and Tyler Walker, Wichita, KS; brother, Carl and Barbara Walker, Seattle, WA, sister-in-laws, Dina and Gene Bender, Park City and Lulu and Mike Clark, Washington State; grandchildren, Casey, Alyssa, Ryan, Tristan, Latasha, Tomas, Amelia and Cecilly; great grandchild, Noah; niece, Amy and Trevor Hale and their son Riker.
Rosary was held on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. with the Memorial Mass on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. Both were held at St. Anne Catholic Church, 2801 S. Seneca, Witchita.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Knights of Columbus c/o St. Anne, 2801 S. Seneca, Wichita, KS 67217.
Burial will be on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Wintersville Cemetery at 11:00 a.m., Wintersville, Missouri.
