Carl Vandel, a 71 year old resident of Trenton, passed away at 8:34 a.m., Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe, MO.
Carl Eugene Vandel was born August 10, 1950 to Carl and Twyla (McDonald) Vandel in Harris, MO. He attended Milan High School, and received his diploma in 1968. On September 16, 1974 he was united in marriage to Patricia Taylor. He worked for Conagra in Milan from 1976 until his retirement in 2002. After his divorce to Patricia, Carl was remarried to Judy Sinclair on August 12, 2017. Carl enjoyed volunteering and driving the bus for Celebrate Recovery. He loved his animals, watching wrestling, spending time with his family and eating cold bologna sandwiches.
Surviving relatives include his wife Judy of Milan, daughter Heather Marshall of Kansas City, MO, and Rachel Ashford and husband Brian of Shawnee, KS, son Ryan Vandel and wife Jenna of Trenton, brother Richard Neff and wife Becky of Camdenton, MO, seven grandchildren Vincent Bye, Quentin Marshall, Ivy Marshall, Patyn Ashford, Mason Ashford, Taylor Ashford and Beckett Vandel, and a great granddaughter Rosemary Havice.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Vicki Couch.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery north of Milan. A visitation is scheduled from 6:00 until 7:00 Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Memorial donations are suggested to the Green Hills Animal Shelter and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
