The City of Green Castle hosted a Community Christmas dinner on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at the Green Castle Lions Building for the residents of Green Castle. Community members were invited to enjoy a meal together courtesy of the City, Green Castle Lions Club, Legends Live Bar & Grill, Green Castle Methodist Church, and everyone brought a covered dish.
The City, along with other community members, have worked hard to raise funds for the park improvement project that was centered around updated playground equipment.
At the dinner, the Green Castle Lions Club and Green Castle Community Group presented a check to the City of Green Castle Park Fund for
$4,000. With these new funds the City will begin plans to purchase and install the new playground equipment in 2022. This has been a project that Mayor Greg Dobrinske started several years ago, and he stated it will be very rewarding to see brand new playground equipment for the kids of Green Castle and future generations to enjoy.
