Mrs. Jenny Hodge, elementary science teacher at the Milan C2 School District, has been awarded a $500 MRTA classroom grant.
Mrs Hodge plans to purchase microscopes and prepared slides for her classroom. These microscopes will be used in her science classes when studying cells.
Since science is best learned through observations and hands on activities, these microscopes will be added to the one working microscope in her classroom and used by approximately 100 students in fifth through eighth grade.
Missouri Retired Teacher Association through its MRTA Foundation (MRTF) offers each of its 14 regions 11 $500 grants, with two of the 11 grants awarded to non certified employees.
