Denise Cowan of Unionville retired after 23 years of service at NEMR.
If you ever called the NEMR office, you might have spoken with Denise. She played a vital role as a Customer Service Representative and much more.
“Over the years, I have mainly spent my time answering the phone and assisting customers with anything they might need. Providing excellent customer service was my main objective,” said Denise.
NEMR hired Denise as an Assistant Plant Clerk in July of 1999.
“One day, I rode from Unionville to Green City with my dad, Gary Davis to NEMR, so he could pay his phone bill and found out they were hiring so I picked up an application. Ray Ford and Gary Godfrey hired me,” said Denise.
During her long career, she experienced a lot of changes with the Internet and the addition of TV service.
“I knew nothing of the telephone industry when I started and can honestly say that I was still learning on the day of retirement.”
Denise went on to say “NEMR was and is a great place to work and I will miss everyone immensely.” NEMR employees and the Board of Directors wish Denise Cowan all the best in retirement.
