JOSEPH D. TURNBAUGH AKA LOGAN JOSEPH JAMES
Joseph D. Turnbaugh aka Logan Joseph James, 63, passed away Friday, August 18, 2023, in Milan, MO.
Born July 17, 1960, in Kansas City, MO, and grew up in Grandview, MO and South Kansas City, MO. He was a 1978 Graduate of Grandview High School and attended CMSU in Warrensburg, MO.
Joe always had a passion for the outdoors, his dad taught him at an early age, to hunt, fish, correctly use firearms and bow and arrow, and he mastered duck calling and was an avid hunter. In his teenage years the family showed horses and he was a very talented rider. He worked for the family business, the Jackson County Advocate, a legal weekly newspaper in Grandview until 1991 when he moved to Milan. Joe used the name Logan Joseph James as a stage name when he DJ’d and sang in Country Bars. He loved the name Logan, his given name was Joseph, his father’s name was James.
Joe was preceded in death by his father, James D. Turnbaugh, jr. (2003) and his mother, Agnes A. Turnbaugh (2017) Lee’s Summit, MO. He leaves his sister, Annette M. Turnbaugh, Grandview, MO, and a son, Joseph L. Turnbaugh, Sunrise Beach, MO and grandchildren.
Logan loved living in the solace of the country in Milan and leaves many dear friends and family.
He will be cremated, and his ashes will be spread on his beloved farm. A Celebration of life will be held later in Milan. Ruschmeier- Smith Funeral Home in Milan handling arrangements.
