Northeast Missouri was well represented in the 8u Coach Pitch division that was part of the Show Me State Games that took place in Columbia, Missouri over the weekend of July 29. The NEMO Spikes brought home the gold with a 4-1 record on the weekend.
Ten athletes coming from four different counties in Northeast Missouri came together to make this team. Connor Greenley, Chad Hunter, Hank Van Delft and Cruz Stansberry from Knox County. Wilder Force, Cash Albin and Tripp McCoy from Shelby County. Delaney Cahalan and Jax Whitacre from Adair County and Ainsley Farwell from Sullivan County.
The Spikes played Friday night and lost their first game of the tournament, but came back to win their next two on Saturday and again on Sunday, winning the championship game against the Lebanon Yellowjackets, which is the team they lost to Friday night.
The Spikes were coached by Jordan Force (Shelby Co.), Dale Whitacre (Adair Co.), Brett Hunter and Marcie Stansberry (Knox Co.).
