REGULAR MEETING
October 2, 2023 – The Mayor and Board of Aldermen of Milan, Missouri met for a regular meeting at the Milan City Hall, 212 E. 2nd Street on October 2, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. with the following Aldermen present: Darin Tucker, Randy McCollum, Ed Reger, Richard Head and Lesa Smith. Also present: Mayor Andy Herington, City Clerk Lisa Sharp, City Administrator Crystal Bupp, Nancy Watt and Wastewater Operator Jeremy Bennett. Absent: Alderman Rebecca Bennett.
Motion by Tucker, seconded by McCollum to approve the minutes. Vote: (all in favor). Motion by Reger, seconded by Head to approve the bills. Discussion followed. Vote: (all in favor).
Administrator Bupp left the meeting due to conflict of interest during bid opening.
Clerk Sharp stated that one bid for the manhole replacement project was received from Premier Flatwork and Decorative Concrete, L.L.C for $10,550. Jeremy Bennett discussed the manhole project with the Mayor and Board. Motion by Reger, seconded by Tucker to accept the bid from Premier Flatwork and Decorative Concrete, L.L.C. for $10,550. Vote: (all in favor).
Clerk Sharp stated that one bid for the city hall repairs project was received from Jacor Contracting, Inc. Clerk Sharp discussed the bid in detail. Motion by Head, seconded by Smith to accept the bid from Jacor Contracting, Inc. for $13,486. Vote: (all in favor).
Administrator Bupp returned to the meeting.
Administrator Bupp updated the board on a few operational issues and upcoming events. She mentioned that the Milan Chamber of Commerce event will be held on October 7 and that the Trunk or Treat will be held on October 29.
Consensus of the Board is to contribute two pool passes to project prom.
Motion by Smith, seconded by McCollum to enter into a closed meeting with closed record and closed vote to the extent permitted by law pursuant to 610.021(3) to consider the hiring, firing, disciplining or promotion of particular employees and/or personnel and to enter into closed meeting with closed record and closed vote to the extent permitted by law pursuant to 610.021 (1) to consider legal actions, causes of action or litigation involving a public governmental body of the City of Milan, Missouri. Vote: (all in favor).
Motion by Head, seconded by McCollum to adjourn closed session and return to open session. Vote: (all in favor).
Motion by Smith, seconded by Tucker to adjourn. Vote: (all in favor).
