An excited crowd was on hand for the 2024 Sullivan County Fair Queen & Junior Miss Pageant on Monday, July 8, 2024.. There were 5 young ladies vying for the Junior Miss title, and 3 ladies vying for the Fair queen title.
Selected as the queen was Miss Jocelyn Dykes daughter of Rikki McConkey. Miss Dykes received a bouquet of flowers provided by Northern Blooms Floral and Decor and a sash donated by the Ali McCully family. Her tiara was sponsored by Complete Family Chiropractic and Wellness. Her official photo will be taken by Kenna Michael Photography. Miss Dykes also received a $200 cash prize which was provided by donations from Pettijohn Ford, Trenton, MO, Kirksville Motors, Hersch Trucking and Double O Berries.
The Junior Miss title winner was Clare Gordon. She is the daughter of Rusty and Danita Gordon. Miss Gordon received a bouquet of flowers sponsored by Wildflower Grove, a $150 cash scholarship provided by NEMR Telecom, Shelter Insurance and Double O Berries. She also received a tiara sponsored by Complete Family Chiropractic & Wellness. Her official photo will be taken by Kenna Michael Photography.
The first runner up in the Junior Miss division was Carson Coram, the daughter of Tim and Stephanie Coram.
The Crowd Favorite in the Queen division was Destiny De Leon. In the Junior Miss division, Carson Coram was awarded the title of Crowd Favorite. Each girl won a $25 cash prize.
Haylee Courtney and Kylee Smith were awarded the title of Miss Photogenic. Each girl received an Amazon Gift Card
Many gifts and donations from the community were given to all the ladies of the competition, and many volunteers assisted with the program and competition making the contest a success.
Sullivan County Fair Queen, Jocelyn Dykes and Junior Miss Clare Gordon will reign over the Sullivan County Fair festivities. Miss Jocelyn Dykes will have the opportunity to compete at the Missouri State Fair in Sedalia for the title of the Missouri State Fair Queen.
