The Class 1 District Championship was played on Friday, February 28, 2025 at Tri County. The Championship game included the Grundy County with Newtown-Harris Panthers vs the Gilman City Hawks. In the first half the Panthers jumped out to a 31 to 21 lead. Freshman guard, Adrian Boren, for the Panthers caught fire in the first half hitting three three pointers and two layups to have 15 of the teams 31. Going into the fourth quarter the Hawks cut the lead to 42 to 36. The Hawks were able to get within 2 points multiple times but each time was answered by a big shot by senior guard Hunter Miller. Miller would close out the game with 25 points, leading the Grundy County with Newtown-Harris Panthers to back to back district titles with a final score of 55-50.
