RONALD DEAN “RON” SEARS

Ronald Dean “Ron” Sears, 76, of Mendon, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at Brookfield Health Care in Brookfield, Missouri.

Ron was born on October 5, 1949, in Milan, Missouri, to Vernon Dean Sears and Helen Marie (Ross) Sears. He grew up in Milan and graduated from Milan C-2 High School with the Class of 1967.

On July 26, 1969, Ron married Connie Sue Foster. Together they built a life centered around family.

Ron devoted 42 years of service to MFA Incorporated, working in field accounting until his retirement on August 31, 2012.

Outside of work, Ron found great joy in caring for and raising horses and spent many years showing horses. He especially treasured time spent with his grandchildren and loved gathering with family. Ron had a playful spirit and was known for being quite the jokester, always ready with a quick remark. To know Ron was to love him. His quiet strength, warm heart, and sense of humor left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Connie Sears of Mendon; his sons, Jason Sears of Mendon and Kirk (Shelly) Sears of Higginsville; his grandchildren, Tanner Sears and wife Kirsten, and Torye Sears and (Ryan Williams); his sister, Kathy Riddle; his brother, Jerry Sears; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon Dean Sears and Helen Marie Sears; and three sisters, Glenda Christy, Jean Mahoney, and Donna Downing.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Delaney Funeral Home in Marceline with Craig Bakke officiating. Visitation was held prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial followed at Siloam Cemetery in Mendon, Missouri.
