MILAN, Mo. (October 15, 2025) – Verimore Bank and the City of Milan are proud to announce the donation of a vacant downtown property from Verimore Bank to the City for future recreational development. This contribution demonstrates the Bank’s continued commitment to enhancing community well-being and strengthening Milan’s shared spaces for residents and families.
The donated lot will serve as a foundation for a new public recreational area—an initiative that supports Milan’s vision of creating more opportunities for outdoor activity, connection, and quality of life.
“We’ve always believed our role goes beyond banking,” said Kristie Stuewe, CEO & President of Verimore Bank. “It’s an honor to support a project that will create new opportunities for families, children, and neighbors to connect and thrive. Our mission as a community bank relies on being a positive force in the communities we serve, and we appreciate the City of Milan giving us this opportunity to make a lasting impact.”
The City of Milan will work to transform the donated space into a vibrant recreational area where residents can gather, play, and enjoy the outdoors. The project aligns with the City’s broader goals to expand recreational amenities and invest in spaces that promote health, unity, and community pride.
“The City of Milan deeply appreciates Verimore Bank’s generosity and vision,” said Andy Herington, City of Milan Mayor. “This donation represents community leadership in action. It shows how local partnerships can drive progress and create spaces that make Milan an even better place to live, raise families, and build connections.”
“This is about giving the people of Milan another place to enjoy life together,” added Ed Evans, Senior Vice President and Loan Officer at Verimore Bank. “I’m excited to see this land turn into something that will continue to benefit our community for years to come.”
The City of Milan and Verimore Bank share a strong history of collaboration and civic investment, both recognizing that vibrant, engaged communities are built through shared vision and local leadership
