MILAN, MO: Leadership and staff from the North Central Missouri Regional Water Commission (NCMRWC) are honored to welcome United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development (USDA RD) officials from both Washington, DC headquarters and State offices for a tour of federally funded water infrastructure investments in Missouri. The tour will highlight the Milan Water Treatment Plant on Wednesday March 13th at 10:00 AM followed by a tour of lake project improvements. The Water Treatment Plant is located at 21299 Highway 5, Milan, MO.
The NCMWRC led tour of the Water Treatment Plant will showcase approximately $2 million in enhancements currently underway, which, when completed aim to serve the needs of up to 10 Counties in North Central Missouri. Additionally, USDA RD is replacing two open bond issues held by NCMRWC, while also funding key elements of the Roy Blunt Reservoir. Without this significant federal investment, such critically needed improvement costs would otherwise be passed on to local ratepayers or Missouri taxpayers. A total of $54 million in USDA RD grants and loans will allow NCMRWC to accomplish improvement projects while maintaining affordable and stable rates for consumers.
USDA RD recognized the need for the Roy Blunt Reservoir as a regional water supply and looked favorably upon NCMRWC’s grant and loan application.
