As the 2024 Missouri State Fair has come to an end lets celebrate our Sullivan County 4-H members who showed or exhibited. Harper planned to show two crossbred steers.
Kaden and Ryland took their Hereford gilts and Spot boars, gilts and barrows. Liam brought his Spot gilts and barrows for contest. Memphis placed 6th with his Duroc, 4th with the Hampshire and Crossbred.
Ayla placed 4th with her Duroc, 3rd with her Hampshire and 7th in Crossbred. Wesley won 1st place with his Crossbred Gilt in the Open Show! Colton placed 3 rd in the Barrow Session 8–9-year-old Showmanship which qualified him for the first ever Missouri State Fair Supreme Swine Showmanship Contest where he competed against the other 5 top showman in the state! Colton also placed 2nd with his Crossbred Gilt in the 4-H Show.
Third place with his York Gilt in the Open Show. Fourth place with his Crossbred Barrow in the Open Show and fourth with his Crossbred Gilt in the 4-H Show.
Each 4-H member brings his or her completed projects to project judging night during the Sullivan County Fair. Projects are selected and each member is allowed to send two qualifying projects to the Missouri State Fair. This year we had 12 building projects exhibited in the 4-H building. Kimber sent a photo of her flower mirror that was too delicate for physical exhibition. Henry sent Tire Feed Bunks and IH 1066 Replacing Injection Pump posters. Hugh exhibited a IH 1066 Lighting Improvements poster. Colton displayed a semi drawing along with a Showmanship Poster. Ryland sent a sampling of Midnight Snack cherry tomatoes from his garden and No Bake Peanut Butter Corn Flake cookies from his kitchen. Harper exhibited a How to wash a chicken poster and an egg wreath. Amber sent Red Velvet White Chocolate Chip cookies from her kitchen.
Kaden displayed Triple Chocolate Chip cookies.
