The Milan Wildcats played Novinger Wildcats for seventh place on Saturday, January 18, 2025. In a close encounter of evenly matched squads, the Milan Wildcats gained a 38-31 victory. Novinger stayed close but led only one possession 27-26 early in the fourth quarter. Milan was able to regain the advantage and hold on with solid free throw shooting down the stretch for the victory.
Milan closed out the first quarter with a trey from Daniel and a 10-5 lead. Novinger had a strong second stanza and closed within 1 point at intermission 16-15.
Novinger outscored Milan by 1 point in the third frame to knot the game 26 to 26 at the end of 3 quarters.
Milan converted 8 of 12 free throws in the final quarter to hold off the Novinger Wildcats and preserve the “W”.
Ethan led Milan with 13 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 5 blocks. Daniel added 12 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals. Memphis had 7 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals. Keaton who was injured in the second quarter finished with 4 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 block. Tony had 2 points, 1 rebound, 1 steal. Jonathan Puerto had 3 rebounds, 1 block. Aziel had 1 rebound, 1 assist, 2 steals, 1 block.
Novinger was led by Koenn Stewart had 9 points, 6 rebounds. Bailyn Halley had 8 points, 5 rebounds. Quincy Chapman had 5 points, 12 rebounds. Cory Kennedy had 4 points, 4 rebounds. Josh Downing had 3 points. Chance Snyder had 2 points, 8 rebounds. Justin Farris had 4 rebounds.
