The Missouri American Legion District Two held its quarterly meeting on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at the Milan Sullivan County Post 228 Legion Hall. District Two Commander Phyllis Cambell briefed the legionnaires on the July State Convention. Guest speaker, Russell Riggins, a Desert Storm veteran, briefed the group on “Guardian Hills”, a healing center for military veterans and first responders with PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder).
The center is in a remote area of rural Green Castle, Missouri. Horse riding therapy, archery, calming exercises, and group fire talks are provided by fellow veterans.
