Sullivan County Weekly Wage Second Highest Among Area Counties

The Bureau of Labor Statistics released their county employment and wages report.

Sullivan County reported the second-highest average weekly wage among several northeast Missouri counties in the fourth quarter of 2025, according to new data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics County Employment and Wages report showed Sullivan County with 2,312 covered jobs at 144 establishments in December 2025. The county’s average weekly wage was $1,039.

Among nine nearby counties reviewed, only Marion County posted a higher average weekly wage, at $1,100. Sullivan County was followed by Scotland County at $996, Shelby County at $957, Lewis County at $935, Knox County at $913, Adair County at $881, Schuyler County at $860 and Clark County at $770.

Sullivan County’s average weekly wage remained below the Missouri average of $1,324 and the national average of $1,569.

Statewide, Missouri had 2,920,764 covered jobs in December 2025. Missouri employment declined by 0.1 percent from the previous year, while average weekly wages increased 4.4 percent.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics said the data are preliminary.
