Milan C-2 Board Approves 2026-27 Budget, Hvac Bid And Sidewalk Easement
MILAN, Mo. — The Milan C-2 Board of Education approved the district’s 2026- 27 budget during its regular meeting May 21.
Superintendent Dr. Ashley Pauley presented expected revenues and expenditures before the board voted 6-0 to approve the budget as presented.
The board also approved a bid from Weston Heating and Cooling for a new HVAC unit to heat and cool the agriculture shop, classrooms and band area. The project will be supported in part by a 50/50 matching FFA Horizon Grant.
Board members also agreed to donate land and approve an easement for a Pearl Street sidewalk project near the district bus barn. Great River Engineering contacted the district because the project affects school property.
Pauley presented reports on food service, Parents As Teachers and preschool. The board approved each report unanimously. Written reports also were submitted on ELL, PowerSchool, summer school, assessments, special education, 504 plans, enrollment, school activities and end-of-year information.
Pauley also reported on ballfield updates, summer maintenance and student leadership team meetings.
During citizens’ communication, Christine Harrelson presented information to the board. The board also received a thank-you card from high school staff for the staff celebration held before the end of the year.
The board approved April 15 regular and executive session minutes, the April financial statement and payment of bills.
The board entered closed session to discuss personnel, contract and property matters before adjourning. The next meeting was scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 17.
