Earnest William Moore, age 87, of Purdin, passed away Friday, October 7, 2022, surrounded by his family at McLarney Manor in Brookfield, MO.
Earnest William, son of Earl Dean Moore and Pearl Mae Sprague was born April 12, 1935, in Purdin.
On August 4, 1962, Earnest was united in marriage to Rita Louise Gladbach. She preceded him in death on March 15, 2012.
Earnest served in the US Army for a short time and was Honorably Discharged thereafter. He was a truck driver for 30 plus years, driving for Midland Brick and Glen Gery Brick of Utica, MO. Earnest loved watching his grandsons play basketball in high school. He enjoyed their visits and listening about their lives, especially their hunting adventures. Earnest enjoyed fishing, hunting, going to livestock sales and auctions, raising cattle and hogs, and most of all he was an amazing mushroom hunter.
Earnest is survived by, his four children, David (Janice) Moore, Linneus; John Moore, Milan; Peter Moore, Jane (John) Schmitz both of Meadville; Grandchildren; TJ Schmitz, Columbia; Jordan Schmitz, Maryville; Shawn (Chasity) Kiel, Browning; one brother Evert Moore, Laclede; several great-grandchildren and other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and eight sibling’s, Hazel Gupton, Francis Smith, Dorothy Hoselton, Lloyd, Harold, Virgil, Dean and Edwin Moore.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield, with Chaplain Will Turner officiating. Visitation wheld at Wright Funeral Home Monday, October 10, 2022, from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.
