 CHARLOTTE DEVON RAY 

Charlotte Devon Ray, 87, of Windsor, Missouri, formerly of rural Stover, MO, died Saturday, January 11, 2025 at her home in Windsor. 

Charlotte was born February 2, 1937, in Pollock MO, the daughter of James Clifford Alexander and Olive LaRue Salsberry. 

On June 10, 1955, Charlotte married James Elmer Ray in Kansas City, MO, and they were the parents of one daughter, Karen. 

After James’ passing in 2001, Charlotte moved to Ivy Bend and shared many years of companionship with Edward Bourland until his death in 2024. 

Charlotte was a 1954 graduate of Milan High School, in Milan, MO. After high school, she obtained a ticketing and reservations degree from National School Of Aeronautics. Charlotte was a homemaker and also worked for National Bellas Hess in Kansas City as a secretary and bookkeeper. For over 20 years, Charlotte worked for St. Luke’s Hospital as part of the kitchen staff retiring in 1997. After retirement, Charlotte and James moved to Eagle Bay in Lincoln, Mo. They enjoyed their place at the lake and the friends they made while there. Charlotte was a very artistic, creative person and loved crafts and sharing things she made with others. She especially enjoyed painting, making wreaths, baby blankets, hat bands and bedazzling clothes. 

Survivors include a daughter, Karen Mills, Kansas City, MO; son-in-law, Larry Afrisio, Kansas City, MO; 4 grandchildren, Christine (Crandell) Rice, state of Florida, Gilbert Quintinilla, state of Massachusetts, Jammie (Chris) Wharton, Windsor, MO, and Gena Dieleman, Kansas City, MO; several great-grandchildren, including Matthew Afrisio and Marabella Wharton of Windsor, MO; a brother, Cary Alexander, Milan, MO; 2 nephews, Kevin and Steve Alexander; and several great-nephews and nieces, cousins and extended family members. 

In addition to her husband James and companion Ed, Charlotte was preceded in death by a grandson-in-law, Quintin Houston (Gena). 

Burial will take place at White Chapel Cemetery, Gladstone, Missouri, at a later date.
