WILLIAM THOMAS (“TOM”) SLOAN

William Thomas Sloan, known to friends and loved ones as Tom, Tommy or even Mr. Smiley Face, passed away peacefully surrounded by his two sons on Monday, June 30, 2025, in Kansas City, Missouri, at the age of 79.

Tom was born on January 23, 1946, in Kirksville, Missouri and grew up in Milan, Missouri.

Tom lived a life marked by dedication, generosity, and quiet strength. A gifted athlete and proud alumnus of the University of Missouri, he was a standout golfer who competed at the collegiate level and continued to enjoy the game throughout his life.

Professionally, he was a trusted accountant and tax preparer, serving clients and friends with care and integrity. He had a sharp mind for numbers and an even sharper sense of humor.

Tom is survived by his wife Krista Sloan, his sons Steven Sloan and Andy Sloan (and wife Shay), his brothers Terrance, and Tony (wife Marie), and sister Susie (husband Mike).

He was a devoted husband and father, and his legacy lives on in the values he instilled.

Tom will be remembered for his dry sense of humor, infectious snicker and heartwarming smile, his envious golf game, the pride and happiness his Mexico condo brought him, his adventurous trips to England, and his just wanting to have a good time around family and friends, he will be deeply missed.

A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at the Sullivan County Country Club in Milan, Missouri, for family and friends.
