LARRY EUGENE GUFFEY
Larry Eugene Guffey, 83, of Green City, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at Kirksville Manor Care Center in Kirksville, Missouri.
Larry was born November 2, 1942, at his childhood home in Pennville, Missouri to Murl Beuford and Tharon Victoria (Keller) Guffey.
On January 28, 1961, he married Madonna (Pearson) Noland, to this union four children were born. They were later divorced.
Larry later married Anna (Stull) Guffey on April 14, 1996, she preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Peggy Guffey; granddaughter, Brandi Buck; and son-in-law, Chris Vieth.
Larry is survived by: three daughters, Trisha Buck of Green City, Missouri; Robin Feeney and husband Tim of Boxford, Massachusetts; and Dawn Vieth of Jefferson City, Missouri; one son, Brian Guffey and wife Cheryl of Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren, Terra Rouse of Kirksville, Missouri; Keith Buck of Green City, Missouri; Zackery LoPresto of Columbia, Missouri; Jordan Feeney of Greenville, South Carolina, Ryenne Feeney of Boxford, Massachusetts; Bailey Vieth of Jefferson City, Missouri; and Jaime Lowman of Browning, Missouri; five great grandchildren, Taylor Rouse and Brandon Rouse of Kirksville, Missouri; Elizabeth Buck of Green City, Missouri; and Hadlee and Lilly Lowman of Browning, Missouri; one great great grandchild, Warren Rouse of Kirksville; Siblings, Sharon Phipps and husband Jerry of Kirksville, Missouri; Terry Guffey of Atlanta, Georgia; and Murline O’Brien of Unionville, Missouri; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Larry grew up in Pennville, graduating from Green City High School. Larry was a talented musician. He started singing as a toddler on the radio with his parents, then moved on to playing and singing on tv in the family show, Country Style Gospel Time. He had his own band throughout his teenage years, and most of his adult life. Music was a significant part of Larry’s life and his favorite pastime was listening to and identifying music.
Larry worked for many years at Guffey Homes and was a construction foreman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bird watching. Larry collected and restored old jukeboxes and was also known for the stories he told.
A graveside service for Larry was held, Saturday, May 23, 2026, at the Green Castle Cemetery. Ruschmeier- Smith Funeral Home in Green City handed arrangements, and Landon Blades conducted the service.
Pallbearers were Keith Buck, Zack LoPresto, Jerry Phipps, Mike Geosling, Donnie Rhodes, Kenneth Keller and Johnny Keller.
