Submitted by Tennille Banner, Green City R-1
On Tuesday, August 27, 2024 Janie Gray and Tennille Banner had the opportunity to represent Green City R-1 and public schools from across the state in a celebration of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. While at the Folly Theater, in Kansas City, they were able to hear Dolly Parton speak about how her father inspired her to create this program and she also performed a few songs for the crowd.
Of the 21 states involved with the program, Missouri is the only state to fully fund this program which provides children ages birth to 5 with a free book every month and currently serves over 140,000 children.
Families are encouraged to sign up for this FREE program at the website below or contact the school for more information. Visit www. imaginationlibrary. com/check-availability to sign up for the program.
