Milan Athletes Stand Out At Brookfield Track Meet On April 1

BROOKFIELD, Mo. — Milan High School athletes turned in a strong showing at the Brookfield High School Open track and field meet April 1, highlighted by a first-place finish from Tony Linhart in the boys high jump and a second-place performance from Marian Dabney in the girls shot put.

Several Wildcats reached the podium, including boys and girls 4×800-meter relay teams, both of which earned second-place finishes. Milan also claimed multiple third-place finishes in individual and relay events across both divisions.

GIRLS RESULTS

In sprints, Annamarie Smith placed sixth in the 100-meter dash (14.56 seconds) and third in the 200 (30.87). Teammates Kiara Ramos (17th, 16.03) and Vanessa Mulaba (19th, 34.02) followed. Chase Trent finished 20th in the 200 (34.50).

In the 400, Jazmin Cisneros placed sixth in 1:14.17, while Mulaba was 10th in 1:24.35. Ramos took sixth in the 300-meter hurdles (1:14.06).

Merkel Seddoh placed seventh in the 800-meter run (3:26.84), and Jaylee Banner finished ninth (4:01.81). Nina Eddy took seventh in the 1,600 (7:49.50) and sixth in the 3,200 (18:39.19).

Milan’s relay teams earned third place in the 4×100 (58.85), 4×200 (2:03.28) and 4×400 (5:27.52), and took second in the 4×800 (14:28.50).

In field events, Jazelle Bahena May finished eighth in long jump (3.55 meters) and sixth in triple jump (7.81). Ramos placed eighth in triple jump (6.95), while Mulaba was 13th in long jump (3.29).

Dabney placed fifth in both discus (27.74) and javelin (28.88), and was runner-up in shot put (10.14). Pauley was ninth in shot (8.29) and eighth in javelin (21.74). Additional throwers included Kendra Sayre (12th, 7.57), Cristal Barriga (17th, 6.35), Jara Sanchez (19th, 6.0), Ailen Callejo (20th, 5.98) and Jasmine Appledorn (21st, 5.78).

BOYS RESULTS

In the 100-meter dash, Linhart placed ninth (12.34), followed by Kasen Smith (13th, 12.54), Gerardo Alvarez (21st, 13.20) and Jariel Colon (23rd, 13.22). Alexis Castillo-Gonzalez was sixth in the 200 (25.33) and third in the 400 (57.42). Smith took ninth in the 200 (25.96), and Memphis Cole was fourth in the 400 (59.11).

Daniel Castellon finished second in both the 800 (2:15.01) and 1,600 (5:05.49). Juan Alvarez placed ninth in the 800 (2:40.38) and 13th in the 1,600 (6:16.84). Garen Broyles was 11th in the 1,600 (5:50.68) and fourth in the 3,200 (12:16.40).

Milan’s relay teams placed fourth in the 4×100 (48.68), fifth in the 4×200 (1:48.14), and second in both the 4×400 (4:02.96) and 4×800 (9:52.82).

In field events, Linhart cleared 1.65 meters to win the high jump and finished second in long jump (5.8). Ethan Bennett was third in long jump (5.6) and third in triple jump (12.01), with Cole finishing fourth in triple (11.28).

Christian Gilbert threw 32.91 meters for sixth in discus. In javelin, Santiago Osorio was sixth (35.46), Gilbert 15th (25.42), and Rodriguez 20th (23.1). Rodriguez also placed sixth in shot put (9.52), followed by Frazier in ninth (9.13) and Aguilar in 10th (9.09).
