Betty Irene Buswell age 93 of Chillicothe, Missouri passed away on Saturday February 13, 2021 at Hedrick Medical Center.

Friends may call Thursday, February 18, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield. There will be a private burial at Purdin Cemetery in Purdin, Missouri.

Betty was born on December 27, 1927 in Purdin, Missouri. She was the daughter of Harold and Vera (Calhoun) Patterson. After graduating from Purdin High School in May of 1945, Betty continued her education at Kirksville College and taught a few years at a country school outside of Purdin.

Betty married Harold Wesley Buswell on May 24, 1948 in Unionville, Missouri. They were married for 65 years until Harold’s death December 9, 2013.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Janice Irene and Harold Larry Hamrick of Chillicothe, Missouri; Grandson, Scot Hamrick of Forest, Virginia; great-grandchildren, Collin, and Joslyn Hamrick; step-granddaughter, Tiffany Hamrick; four step-great grandchildren; one sister, Trudy Clawson, and Dick Clawson of Brookfield; niece, Sandy Murrell; nephews, David Fowler, Andy Fowler, Jerry Mullany, Troy Clawson, and Mike Clawson. Betty was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two sisters, Charlotte Fowler and Sara Mullany; nephew, Joey Mullany. Betty lived most of her life in Purdin Missouri.

She was a member of the Methodist Church of Purdin. She retired from the ASCS office at Brookfield after 31 years. Betty and Harold sold their home in Purdin in 2008 and moved to Chillicothe to live with their daughter and son-in-law.
