JERRID SHANE GLIDEWELL

Jerrid Shane Glidewell, 54, of Milan, Missouri, passed away on January 14, 2025, in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, surrounded by his loving family.

Jerrid was born on November 29, 1970, in Milan, Missouri, to Stan and Cheryl (Swank) Glidewell. As the eldest of three brothers, he grew up with a strong sense of family, responsibility, and small-town values that remained with him throughout his life.

Raised in rural Milan, Jerrid enjoyed a childhood filled with outdoor adventures alongside his brothers and cousins. Some of his favorite memories included coon hunting with his Papa Eldon, riding 3-wheelers, fishing, and spending time outdoors.

He graduated from Milan High School before attending college in Warrensburg, Missouri. He later returned to Milan, where he built a life centered around family and raising his daughters in a home filled with love and laughter.

Jerrid had a lifelong passion for sports, especially football. He was a devoted fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Missouri Tigers and could always be counted on to cheer enthusiastically for his favorite teams.

Outside of sports, Jerrid loved golfing, backroad drives, listening to hard rock music, and spending time outdoors. He especially cherished fishing and camping at his parents’ pond, where countless treasured memories were made with family and friends.

Jerrid worked in construction before dedicating many years to maintenance positions at Smithfield Foods and Simmons. He took pride in his work and was respected for his dedication, dependability, and strong work ethic.

Known for his sense of humor and easygoing personality, Jerrid formed lasting friendships throughout the community and cared deeply for those around him.

Above all else, Jerrid’s greatest joy in life was being a father to his beloved daughters, Rhiannon and Regan. He treasured every moment spent with them, whether it was going to the movies, taking Jeep rides, golfing, attending Milan Wildcat football games, or cheering on his girls at Green City Gophers sporting events. In later years, he especially enjoyed visiting Lake Havasu City, Arizona, where his daughters resided. His love, support, laughter, and presence were evident in every part of their lives, and the memories they shared will be cherished forever.

Jerrid is survived by his daughters, Rhiannon (Andy) Giegle of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Regan Glidewell of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; grandson’s Harvey and Archie Giegle; his father, Stan Glidewell; his brothers, Brandon Glidewell and Jody (Jennifer) Glidewell; niece, Macie Glidewell; nephews, Marcus Glidewell and Troy Aldridge, all of Milan, Missouri; aunts and uncles, Rhonda and Brad Carter of Lake Ozark, Missouri; Steve and Shelley Swank of Milan, Missouri; Oren and Linda Glidewell of Kansas City, Missouri; Jennie and Larry Marks of Smithville, Missouri; as well as several cousins and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Cheryl (Swank) Glidewell; paternal grandparents, James Paul and Rita Glidewell; maternal grandparents, Eldon and Shirley Swank; aunts, Julie Nickell and Cathy Adkins; uncle, Dave Adkins; and several cousins.

Jerrid’s kindness, humor, unwavering support, and deep love for his family and friends will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched and the countless memories shared with those he loved.

A Celebration of Life honoring Jerrid will be held at 1:00 p.m on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at the Milan Elks Lodge in Milan, Missouri, with inurnment to follow at Shatto Cemetery.
