Velda Maud (Fuller) Russell, 87, of Green Castle passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at Putnam County Care Center, Unionville, Missouri.

The daughter of Jesse Byron and Maud Valera (Kirby) Fuller, she was born May 3, 1934, in Sullivan County, Missouri.

On August 8, 1952, she married Noel Russell and three children were born to this marriage.

She is survived by three children, Dena (Russell) and Rodney Shoop of Green City, MO, Randall and Jennifer (Hollon) Russell of Milan, MO, and Kendall Russell, of Unionville, MO; five grandchildren, Jared (Stephanie) Shoop, Marcus (Kara) Shoop, Ethan (Kari) Shoop, Drew (Ashton) Russell, and Ian Russell; six great grandchildren, Michael, Anthony, Maddox, Jaxon, Trayton, Ava, and another one on the way that she was excited for, Lane Noel Russell; four great great step grandchildren, Hunter, Ruby, Kaia, Vitani; numerous nieces and nephews.

Velda was preceded in death by her spouse, Noel; her parents; a brother; and an infant granddaughter, Christina Grace Russell.

Velda graduated high school in Humphreys, Missouri. She was a devoted wife and mother. She doted on each grandchild and baked hundreds of cookies and goodies which she shared not only with the grandchildren but close friends and neighbors. In her spare time, she was an avid reader.

Velda’s wishes were to be cremated and a private inurnment will be held at a later time.
