Al@ Obituary of Dr. Gilbert A. Dale, Jr. (August 21 1943- July 8, 2021.)

Dr. Dale passed away unexpectedly Thursday, July 8th, 2021 at his home in Fresno California.

He was born and raised in Newtown having attended Newtown schools from grades 1 thru 10. He then graduated from Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington, Missouri with highest academic honors as a Sergeant First Class. He attended the University of Missouri at Columbia undergraduate and graduated from the University of Missouri Medical School in 1968 with honors.

After a 5 year residency in Urology where he served as Chief Resident at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles he became Assistant Professor of Urology at the University of Tennessee in Memphis. A few years later he joined a private urology medical practice in Fresno which he continued until his death. In Fresno he and his wife Susan raised their 2 children Christine and Alexander.

During his youth he was raised working and playing along side his brothers on his father’s farm 3 miles north of Newtown. He developed a love for medicine at an early age and assisted his father working with him at Axtell Hospital in Princeton. Gil enjoyed sports, especially golf and had traveled the world.

He grew up in the Newtown Christian Church where he was baptized. Even though he lived much of his life in California he never forgot the love he had for his native state of Missouri and his friends of Newtown.

He was preceded in death by his parents Dr. Gilbert Dale, Sr. and Gwen Dale and his oldest child Chrissy as well as his beloved uncle Walter Dale and his wife Stella of Newtown and his aunt Dorothy Dale Stewart and her husband Dr. L.B. Stewart of Richmond, MO.

He is survived by his son Alex, brothers, Richard Dale of Fort Worth, Texas, Dr. David Dale of Springfield as well as cousins Jerry Dale, Wally Dale and Dr. Dale Stewart of Brookfield, Saint Joseph and Richmond Missouri respectively.
