CHARLES STEVEN MARLEY
Charles Steven Marlay, 67 years old, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Macon Health Care Center in Macon.
Charlie was born February 28, 1954 to Melvin and Evelyn Nadine (Cleeton) Marlay, they preceded him in death. He was also preceded by a sister, Vickie King; a brother, David Marlay; a sister-in-law, Jamie Marlay; a brother-in-law, Bob Walgren; a niece, Kaylee Crisp; His grandparents, Pharis and Opal Cleeton; and an uncle, D. Norris Cleeton.
Charlie was survived by a sister, Jane Walgren of Brookfield; nieces and nephews, Anitra and husband Tony Crisp of Kirksville and their children Kaitlyn and Jaden Crisp, Mary and husband Chad Schmidt of Marion, Virginia and their children Drake and Gauge; Charles David and wife Natalie Walgren of Kearney, Missouri and their children Marlay and Sterling, Travis Walgren of Marceline, Missouri and his children Hazel and Albany; Steve and wife LeAnne King and their children Tawney and Tyler, and Greg King and his children Presley and Piper; and a brother-in-law, Doug King of Kansas City, Missouri.
Charlie graduated from Milan High School in 1972 then went on to receive his Bachelor’s Degree at what is now Truman State University. In the 70’s Charlie owned and operated a liquor store in Milan, he then went on to work at Jim Robertson’s Chevrolet in Kirksville and was currently working at Kirksville Motor Co. since 2004. Charlie was most passionate about the automotive industry, he was icon in the auto world.
Charlie’s wishes were to be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the Dukum Inn. Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan is handling arrangements.
