MAX FALCONER
Max Falconer, age 100, of Purdin, Missouri, passed peacefully on Friday, February 25, 2022, at Life Care Center in Brookfield.
Max, son of Dallas A. and Hermia Lee (Bowyer) Falconer, was born December 8, 1921, in Linneus, Missouri.
He entered the United States Army November 20, 1942. He received his basic training at Camp Roberts, California. He served as a Technician with the 129th Infantry Regiment, 37th Infantry Division in the Pacific during World War II.
Battles and campaigns his regiment participated include the Northern Solomons and Luzon. He received the Combat Infantry Badge, Philippines Liberation Ribbon with one star, Good Conduct Medal and Bronze Star.
Max was discharged December 29, 1945 and returned to his home near Purdin.
On March 23, 1946, he married Mary Gertrude Gilmer. Max resumed farming and the couple raised their family on the family farm. Mary preceded him in death on May 30, 1987.
Survivors include three children, Margie Rollison of Brookfield, Ed Falconer and wife, Cathy of Purdin, and Brenda Techau of Brookfield; five grandchildren, Robin Williams and husband, Greg of Cameron, Ronda Roberts and Ryan Collins of Brookfield, Russ Falconer and wife, Shelly of Purdin, Rick Falconer and wife, Janell of Linneus, and Bryan Techau of Burlington, Vermont; granddaughter-in-law, Kelly Techau of Normal, Illinois; nine great-grandchildren, Ryan Williams and wife, Maggie of Amity, Sara Crowther and husband, Josiah of Osborn, Gracie Derickson and husband, Miles of Brookfield, Brooke Falconer and Lily Falconer of Linneus, Gretchen Falconer of Purdin, Max Techau of Incline Village, Nevada, and Cooper Techau and Carson Techau of Normal, Illinois; five great great-grandchildren, Thomas, Adilynn, Brooklynn and Oliver Crowther, Mayor Derickson, and one on the way; and several other friends and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Edwin Dale Falconer and Virgil Lee Falconer; an infant sister; two sons-in-law, Tom Rollison and Bob Techau; and two grandsons, Ray Falconer and Rob Techau.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Purdin Cemetery in Purdin with Pastor Rusty Abbott officiating. Full military honors will be rendered by VFW Post #4557 in Brookfield. There will be no formal visitation, however friends are welcome to call Wednesday between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield.
