New Tax Break On Overtime Pay Comes With Limits

COLUMBIA, Mo. – A new federal tax provision allows some workers to deduct part of their overtime pay from their taxable income, but the change is narrower and more complicated than it may sound. The provision, in effect for tax years 2025 through 2028, does not eliminate taxes on all overtime pay, according to Andrew Zumwalt, director of the University of Missouri’s Personal Financial Planning program. North Central Electric Cooperative has appointed Mike Scheib as its new chief executive officer. Scheib began his role Jan. 15, 2026, succeeding longtime CEO Loren Haines. Scheib most recently served as CEO of Tri- County Electric Cooperative in Lancaster, Missouri, where he held the position since 2020. He brings more than 25 years of experience in the electric utility industry, beginning his career in 1999 as an apprentice lineman with Trenton Municipal Utilities. Barbara was born April 5, 1941 at her maternal grandparent’s farm near Odebolt, Iowa to Roland and Dorothy (Godbersen) Anderson.
