Milan Athletes Compete At Gerald Mansfield Invitational
Gerald Mansfield Invitational on April 28, 2026 at Macon High School, earning the team’s top finish with a runner-up performance in the girls shot put. Dabney placed second in the shot put with a throw of 10.78 meters. She also finished 12th in the javelin at 30.4 meters and 14th in the discus at 25.06 meters to lead Milan’s girls in the field events. On the boys side, Kasen Smith turned in Milan’s top sprint finishes. Smith placed seventh in the 200-meter dash in 24.43 seconds and 16th in the 100-meter dash in 12.31. Submitted by Jean Page, Gamma Chapter Member The Gamma Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa (ADK) is excited to announce that a Retired Teachers Mini Grant of $200 has been awarded to Andrew Gooch, the music director at Milan C-2 Schools. The funds will be used to purchase essential supplies for the elementary band program, such as reeds and neck straps, which will support the musical education of 5th and 6th grade students. The retired teacher mini grant was written by Gamma Chapter member Jean Page after hearing about the constant need of basic supplies for Mr. Gooch’s instrumental music program.…
